Sassafras has been in the same location in downtown Kalispell since we opened!
Our unique building boasts a long history in our community. Built in 1892 by German immigrants Charles and Henry Lindlahr to house their Brewery and Saloon, 120 Main expanded over the decades to host social clubs, billiard halls, and notably the city’s first bowling alley! A local general store and lunch counter occupied the main floor when it was purchased and then meticulously restored, section by section, over the course of 2001-2002.
120 Main was rented to us just in time to open its newly renovated doors for the holiday season of 2002. All these years later, we’re proud to have the opportunity to continue to be stewards of this colorful piece of storied local architecture.
Nestled between the Kalispell Grand Hotel and Flowers by Hansen on Main Street, our iconic butter yellow, silver, and maroon Queen Anne façade stands out.
Come pay us a visit on your next trip to Kalispell!
